About Us
Jake Koopmans, Mount Vernon born and raised. Lifelong Big Lake part-time resident and want to help Big Lake be healthy for recreation and play while also respecting the environment that makes Big Lake Special. We have a long road ahead with many focus facets as pressures on the Big Lake ecosystem continue to increase. I am a mechanical engineer with a master's degree in sustainable engineering and LEED Green Associate.
Jan Edelstein, Big Lake resident, loves the lake, want it useable again for distance swimming. Retired rural land developer and lawyer. Former Land Trust Board Member and Planning and Zoning Commissioner in Idaho.
Rob Eleveld, Big Lake homeowner, love the lake and want it to be a continued resource for boating, swimming, and fishing - all of which are at risk with algae blooms and increasing pressure on the lake. Currently CEO of a nonprofit.
Ellen Zoffel, Daughter of Big Lake residents. Helping where I can to support the volunteers who are researching, doing outreach, and legal work all on their own time.
