Help protect Big Lake from storm pollution

Big Lake Community -

We need your help NOW! A New 105-home development that includes a 42" stormwater pipe to run directly into the lake will proceed unless the county commissioners vote to remand back to planning. The 42” pipe will proceed WITHOUT any analysis of the impact on Big Lake and WITHOUT applying the special "Big Lake Rural Village zoning rule" designed to protect Big Lake from stormwater pollution. The Overlook Crest development will add runoff from 18+ acres of impervious area (14 NFL Football Fields) into Big Lake, delivering nutrients that feed algae and other toxic materials, including roadway and tire chemicals such as 6PPD, which are known to kill juvenile salmon.
